Just like its Grand Sichuan siblings around New York, Grand Sichuan St. Mark’s features authentic Sichuan cuisine. However, the thing that sets this location apart is its dishes in Chong Qing flavor, such as the Authentic Chong Qing Hot Pot. With its spicy peppers and boiling hot soup base, this is not a dish for the faint of heart. But for those adventurous enough to take it on, their reward will be an incredible array of flavors.

Great food. Really spicy.

Food was good, but delivery time is inconsistent to what was written on the confirmation.

Ma-Po tofu or that crazy spicy chicken dish I can't remember how to spell. The food from this place makes my stomach make funny noises for the rest of the day. I think it's worth it, so I keep ordering from here.

Some of the dishes are fantastic, especially the gui zhou chicken. Five stars for sichuan food (really good), two stars for the other menu items (not good). STICK TO THE SICHUAN.

Favorite szechuan restaurant in the city hands down! Pretty reliable delivery times, and food is always hot and fresh. Definitely go for the dan dan noodles, and the dry sauteed string beans, they're awesome!

Good food. Quick delivery.

Great food, but unreliable. Our order took more than 90 minutes to arrive, despite a delivery estimate of 30-45 minutes. When we called repeatedly, they continued to say that the delivery person was in our building, and they even hung up on us - twice. Not surprisingly, the food arrived cold. Not a good way to run a business!

Grand Sichuan is for us a Chinese restaurant of exceptional quality. I've been to China MANY times, including the provinces of Hunan and Sichuan where many of this place's special dishes come from. I can confirm they are executed perfectly. I particularly recommend some of the odd dishes like the pumpkin which is cooked with ginger into a delicious vegetable, the conch appetizer in a spicy wasabi/mustardy sauce, the Hunan Beef is great as is the CUMIN BEEF, a favorite. Sour string beans are an acquired taste which Mao loved and me too. Price can't be beat.

Green peppers with chicken ftw. This is normally my go to Chinese place on here. All the American Chinese is relatively safe, but venture to the bottom part of the menu for something better and more authentic. I'd avoid the lamb though, not so good and couldn't tell it wasn't beef.

pretty darn good

This is definitely not classic Sichuan food...the spicy is just oily and too salty. Plus, they left out items in my order, the delivery guy was on the phone when delivering the food. Food, fail. Service, double fail.

Really just okay... the Vegetable Rolls are awful, very small and way over priced at $2.25 (as an add on they are listed at $2.00, but are charged at $2.25). The Chicken & Broccoli was good, but a bit heavy on the sauce. Sesame Chicken... okay. I am always bummed when Chinese food comes with the wrong amount of fortune cookies. How can you send one cookie with two entrees?

Bate and Switch I ordered one thing, they called and said they didnt have it, I asked for the charge to be removed, they said they could not do it but would replace it with a more expensive item, like they were doing me a real favor. I couldnt do anything about it as I was in a rush. The cucumbers in green slime sauce arrived, about a 1/4 portion, which turned out to be fine because it was inedible. Feel like I got scammed but $3 didnt seem worth dealing with my credit card company. Lesson learned.

Quick delivery in relation to where we live - SOHO. Generous portions in relation to $$. Food is a bit greasy/oily. I would order from here again.

Great tasting and generous portion sizes. Will definitely order from here again.

The Braised Sliced Beef with Chili Sauce was quite good - a bit oily, but incredibly spicy. While the vegetable roll was a bit limp and lacking, overall this was a decent and filling meal. The portions are fantastic (one order of the beef was plenty to share between two-three people). I would definitely consider ordering from here again when I want to incinerate my mouth.

Delivery is not fast or slow - probably about avg, but the food is great and that is what keeps me coming back to this place. I love the lunch specials.

Best chinese in the area. The double cooked pork is especially good, as are the vegetable dishes. A little on the pricey side for chinese food, but worth it!
Posted 9 months ago by Ariele S.
I love Grand Sichuan - by far the best delivery Chinese in the East Village. Their portions are always generous and you can't go wrong if you order from the "authentic sichuanese" parts of the menu. Delivery favorites are the cucumbers, the beef tendon and the chicken and loofah soup.

Had the sesame chicken and really liked it. Portion was a good size - enough for two servings (at least for me), pick up only took about 10 minutes on a busy Saturday night there.

I consider this to be some of the best Chinese food outside of Chinatown. Unique menu with many authentic dishes.

Great traditional Chinese food. The soup dumplings will blow your mind. Most of the things on the menu are not for the faint of heart, but that's what I love most about it.
Posted 9 months ago by Rebecca C.
Food is good, and authentic (speaking as a native of the Szechaun region in China), but definitely a bit pricey for the amount of food you get compared to some of the places in Chinatown.
Posted 9 months ago by Leo H.
I was in the mood for some real deal, down and dirty Chinese food, and this place did the trick. The soup dumplings are addictive. Only complaint was that it took close to an hour for delivery.
Posted 9 months ago by LAN D.
Great stuff. Stay away from the "American Chinese" dishes and stick to the Sichuan specialties. Red Cooked Pork is always great, and the spicy chicken delivers the goods. Tea-Smoked duck was a bit of a letdown (a little too greasy) but otherwise they've always been very solid.

i am american but used to live in beijing china. this place has some real authentic sichuan food, unlike most the crap in this city. I don't know any place in new york to get this type of food outside of some places in flushing queens.

THE GUY WHO DELIVERED THIS WAS CRAZY! He started yelling at me for not having my apartment number in the delivery address. He literally started YELLING at me in the lobby of my business causing a total scene. I've never had anyone talk to me like that

sesame shrimp rocked it!

Food tasted alright but arrived at room temperature. Not even warm. Cold rice-- yum! Soggy scallion pancakes-- yum! I guess that's why they have cold things on the menu.

yuck - soup dumplings weren't edible & the vegetable roll for $2.25 was miniscule & tasted like cardboard

terrible food, terrible customer service. Got my very simple delivery order wrong 3 times, i finally gave up and asked for my money back, which they refused to do without making me wait another 40 minutes for them to "pick it up" to prove i didnt eat it. Seriously? I had to leave for work and couldn't wait for them to pick up their crappy cold food. DO NOT ORDER from these people. Unfortunately, the lived up to every negative sterotype in the chinese restaurant book,

If it were possible to give 0 stars I would. Sesame chicken is floating in teriyaki sauce and the food is terrible.

Ordered today(4/2), probably about some of the worst chinese food we've had in a while, felt compelled to write a review. Ordered sesame chicken and beef & broccoli, with scallion pancackes. The chicken just tasted ok, the beef had a funny taste to us and neither of us wanted to eat it. Every place we have ordered scallion pancakes from comes with sauce, none came with this order. No chop sticks were included and only one fortune cookie. Epic fail.

tasty but i wonder iif the food is MSG-free.

This place is not your typical American Chinese restaurant. If you're looking for General Tso's Chicken or Sweet and Sour Pork, look elsewhere. It either won't be what you expect, or will be what almost seems to be deliberately horrible. I suspect the kitchen hates it when people order that, but they're great at everything else so I won't hold it against them. If you're looking for a place that does American Sichuan dishes better than most in Manhattan, you've come to the right place. I highly recommend any of their dishes with Black Bean sauce, the Kung Bao, and essentially anything on the menu that you haven't heard of before or involving the word Sichuan. The delivery here is very fast during the day, but can take some extra time at night, which is the only reason I give this place four stars.

Lo Mein and vegetable roll were delicious! Hot and Sour soup was very good, not watered down at all. Sesame chicken was decent, not the best ive had but definitely not the worst. I would definitely order from here again.

This food was TERRIBLE. I should have listened to the previous reviewers- like many others, I waited for over an hour (estimated time was 15-30 min) and received greasy, flavorless noodles and weak, pathetic dumplings. I threw most of it away, which is very rare for me.
Posted 2 years ago by kate m.
The food here is not terrable but far from good. We had to wait over an hour to get our food, and when it came it was cold and they had left the lid ajar on my food causing it to spill out all over the bag. Do not bother to get their veggie rolls either they charge you 2 bucks for them and they are smaller than your pinkey. Def do not thin I will be ordering from here again.
Posted 2 years ago by Laura C.
Food's always good but BEWARE on time. Estimate said 30-45 minutes. We've been waiting for 1 hour, 25 minutes. Have called twice and people there wouldn't tell us anything other than we'd have to wait. Just called again to cancel and they hung up after telling us we needed to wait.

Overcharged me for "all white meat"... got mixed meat. Also, gave me white rice instead of Brown. Overall, the food was mediocre, I ordered the sesame chicken, and there was barely any sesame on the chicken. The other ordered entree was also not so good. It took 45 minutes to get slightly below average food, and not even the right food. I would advise you to check out other restaurant.

The General Tso's Chicken was soggy and wasn't flavorful. The Shrimp Lo Mein completely lacked flavor. I was really disappointed.

Best Chinese in the neighborhood, by far. The Gui Zhou Spicy Chicken is amazing, as are the crab-and-shrimp soup dumplings.

Took 3 times as long as it was promised to have my order delivered. When I received it, the contents of each item was spilled into the bag. Absolute mess!
Posted 2 years ago by Andrea K.
Took almost an hour and they sent white rice. Why provide the brown rice option if it won't be honored? It was only one meal and one rice - really steams my pot to have something that simple screwed up.

I recently relocated from the Midtown East area down to the East Village. One of the few things I miss is a decent Chinese restaurant. My old neighborhood had nothing but decent Chinese restaurant. I was hoping my order from this place was going to be decent, given the fact that there is another Grand Sichuan, where I used to live. The only decent thing on this menu was their free soda that came along with it's lunch. I ordered the General's Tao Chicken. First of all the chicken dish they gave me was a "WATERY SOUP." When I opened it up, I swear, 90% of the dish was diluted with water. Their pork lo mein was nothing but GREASE. I was better off riding a taxi back to my old neighborhood for some decent Chinese food.

Timely delivery and good food. My only annoyance was that the delivery person spoke poor/heavily-accented English so communication was difficult. But definitely worth it.

So good. It's not for the meek. This food is POW in your face spicy and flavorful. I love the cold appetizers, like the Dan-Dan noodle and the spicy beef tendon, the tea smoked duck is heaven! Avoid the Chinese-American side of the menu and go for the authentic stuff.
